Chapter 1
Akane sighed for the second time, and glanced at the clock on her table, it was exactly 5 minutes before midnight. They supposed to celebrate their 6th months anniversary very soon, but instead of being together with her boyfriend on their special day, she was alone in her flat that night. She didn’t remind him for that, hoping that he could remember it himself, but she was sure with his busy schedules between study and work, he wouldn’t remember it, or maybe he wouldn’t care for it. She sighed again, and it’s already midnight. “Happy 6th months anniversary, Pi-chan!” she whispered to herself.
She looked at the small frame near the clock, with a cute purikura of them together, she smiled, it was a sweet moment back then. They have just been together for like 2 weeks, and after their first real date, he asked her to take a purikura, she refused, she wasn’t a type of girl who loved taking pictures, but he forced her and actually dragged her to the purikura machine. She wasn’t sure what to do, because it was actually her first time ever to take picture in purikura machine! He did everything by himself, like choosing the background and all. And when the machine told them to get ready, he whispered to her ear, “Akane, I want to memorize this special day, so please give me your sweetest smile!” then he grabbed her into his embrace. The picture turned out really good, they both smiling and looking so happy together. He keeps one in his wallet, and she also put another one in her agenda. It was their only picture together ever.
She wasn’t sure whether to call or mail him about the anniversary or not. He might be sleeping already. With his tight schedules, they couldn’t meet up as often as they wanted, and she understood that. Sometimes twice a week or even only once! She’s at her final year in Meiji University, she’s working on her thesis now, therefore she rarely went to Uni, so they usually only met up in the weekends. She wished that he could take a few day-off from his work, but she couldn’t be that selfish, she knew that he loves his job very much. At the end, she decided not to bother him, though she hoped that he would call or mail her that night, but after waited for like a hour, she gave up. She looked at the frame again, whispered, “Oyasuminasai, Pi-chan!” and turned off the light.
2 days later …
“Yappari, he didn’t remember our anniversary … “ Akane spoke to herself on they way to Yamapi’s apartment. No call, no mail, whatsoever! She kinda disappointed, but then she tried to calm herself, “C’mon Akane, it’s only 6th months anniversary! He must be really busy this week so he forgot it.” She tried to not make big deal of it.
She walked and finally reached the door, it was locked, she knocked few times, no answer. She took out the key that Yamapi gave her on their 1st month anniversary, yup they did celebrate that! The key attached with the cute Doraemon keychain, she sometimes laughed at her boyfriend, coz he’s almost 20 years old, but yet still obsessed with Doraemon! She inserted the key, turned it right and the door was opened. She could hear the shower noise from the bathroom.
“Hey Pi, are you in the shower?” shouted Akane after she took off her coat and shoes.
“Yes, I’m almost done, please wait, will ya?” replied him from the bathroom.
His apartment isn’t big but comfortable enough, she loved to spend times observing his place. She loved especially the big sofa they often used to watch DVD with his big flat screen TV. Yamapi used to live with his mother and sister until he got accepted in Meiji University. Sometimes Akane helped him to clean up and re-arrange the furniture, she often teased him, “Whoah, you need to pay me extra to be your maid!” But actually she loved to do all the things for his apartment, it’s like her 2nd home.
She entered the bedroom, and sighed, the bed sheet was messy, clothes were everywhere. “Pi Pi, what are you gonna do without me?” whispered Akane. She started cleaning the room, and in the outside the rain started to fall heavily. They supposed to have dinner with Koyama and Miharu. She watched the rain outside and thought, “Damn, we will definitely late! Must mail Miharu about the rain!” she took out her keitai, opened it, and the screen was pure black, the battery was out! “Shit, am I being cursed today?” she frowned. She looked around the room and found Yamapi’s keitai on the side table. She doubted whether to use it or not, she knew that it’s not polite to look around someone else’s phone, even if it’s his boyfriend! But she has no other choice, she opened the keitai, and smiled to see the Doraemon wallpaper inside. “The story of my life, must share my boyfriend with an anime character.” she said to herself. She opened the mailbox and before writing the new message, suddenly a new mail was coming in!
She hesitated to open it, but thought maybe it’s from Koyama. So she opened it and was dead surprised to see the message! It was short, simple, but really hurt her! She couldn’t believe Yamapi was cheating on her on their anniversary! Her mind was full with questions, “Why? Why? Why?” and so she couldn’t think clear and asked for explanation. She grabbed her coat and run out the apartment, in the midst of rain, her tears fell down.
Chapter 2
Yamapi didn’t realize that Akane already left the apartment, he walked out from the bathroom, only wore his jeans and towel around his neck, he still dried the hair when he reached the bedroom, no sign of Akane.
“Akane?” he looked around the apartment, and still no sign of her.
“Strange!” he rolled his eyes and found his keitai was opened on the bed. He grabbed the phone and read the message, it was from his ex-girlfriend Mika. He suddenly understood why Akane left the apartment without telling him.
“Damn, she must think the wrong idea about this mail!” murmured Yamapi.
He put on his shirt, grabbed the jacket and went out to search her. He had no idea where she could be, he called Koyama and Miharu and both of them didn’t know her whereabouts too! He started reaching her phone also, but the operator machine kept saying that the number was either inactive or outside the service area. He felt frustration again. It’s like the time was running back in the past, he knew how fragile she was.
He met up with Koyama and Miharu at the restaurant where they supposed to meet, it was dark already and the rain was still falling like cats and dogs.
“Yo Pi, still no news about Akane?” worried Koyama, his group mate in NEWS.
“Yes, I’m worried about her too! Her phone is inactive!” added Miharu, Koyama’s girlfriend who is also Akane’s best friend.
“Nope! I still can’t reach her! I think she’s gone after she accidentally read this mail!” he showed her keitai to his friends, they read the message and both of them nodded as the sign of agreement for his guess.
“Ahh, poor girl! She thought you were cheating on him!” sighed Miharu.
“But I didn’t cheat on her! Mika only asked me to help her choose birthday present for her fiancée!” retorted Yamapi.
“Well, she didn’t know that! Beside why you didn’t tell her before she found that mail? I would have the wrong idea myself if Kei-chan got mail from another girl with that kind of message!” argued Miharu.
“It’s because I haven’t got a chance to do it!” replied Yamapi.
“That’s lame, no excuse for that!” barked Miharu back.
“GUYS STOP IT! It’s no point to argue in here! We better start look out for her before anything bad happen to her!” Koyama tried to calm the situation.
“Yeah right, gomen ne Miharu, I wasn’t thinking.” said Yamapi apologetically.
“Me too, I was a bit carried away, it’s because I’m so worried about her.” sighed Miharu.
“We all do! So Pi try that way, Miharu and me will go this way!” pointed Koyama. And so they parted to search her
Akane kept walking under the rain until her feet started to shake and she couldn’t walk any longer, she was soaking wet from her hair to her shoes. She sat on the bench of a park, and tears still fell down from her eyes. Her mind was remembering the message from Yamapi’s keitai. It was a short simple message written like this, “Pi-chan, thanx so much for yesterday, you are the best! Mika” not to forget the little red heart shape before the name of that girl.
“Akane?” a familiar voice was heard. She lifted her head to see the person that called her.
“Ryo-chan!” surprised Akane, her eyes widened.
“Ohisashiburi! What are you doing in here under the rain? Where is Yamapi?” smiled Ryo and put the umbrella upper her head.
“I don’t want to talk about him!” Akane shook her head like 5 years old girl. Ryo raised his eyebrow, “Are they fighting or something?” guessed him in his mind.
“Ok, but you have to dry yourself now, or else you will get sick! Tell you what? My hotel is only a block away, you can clean up there, I will lend you clothes,” suggested Ryo.
“No need, I don’t care for the rain!” refused Akane.
“Well, I care for you, I don’t want you to get sick, so let’s go!” persisted Ryo and grabbed her hand to follow him.
Akane walked in lazy steps, Ryo tried to cheer her up with his jokes but she still wasn’t smiling even a bit. She’s back to her worst personality ever, rude and cold. They entered the hotel lobby, Ryo nodded to the room boy who stood there, he passed the umbrella to him and pushed Akane inside the lift elevator.
“Here are towel and clean clothes, I have turned the hot water in the bathtub for you! Now clean your self!” ordered Ryo to Akane as they got inside his room. She didn’t say anything, just received the stuff Ryo handed to her and walked to the bathroom. Ryo looked up his hotel room, he’s been staying there for almost a month for NEWS fuyucon and SHOCK musical, but that day was the last day of his part in SHOCK, tomorrow Tsubasa-kun will replace him, so he could pack up and return to his home in Osaka.
30 minutes later …
Akane went out from the bathroom, she wore Ryo’s clothes already, it’s look funny as his clothes were a bit bigger for her.
“Ahhh, you look great with my clothes, Akane! If you cut your hair, you could try and join Johnny’s Jimusho!” joked Ryo.
She still didn’t say any words from her mouth, her expression was cold. Ryo knew that it’s not time for joking around, and started serious conversation with her.
“Akane, doushite? You can tell me anything, don’t keep it to yourself!” asked Ryo. Akane looked at him, and finally she said something.
“Why man is such a jerk? Can you explain?” Ryo wasn’t expecting her to say those rude words. Even if he often said rude things from his evil tongue, her words still surprised him.
“What man? Can you describe more specifically?” puzzled Ryo.
“Well, Yamapi that is!” replied her in high tone.
“What about him? He did something bad to you?” he asked curiously.
“I don’t want to talk about it!”
“Akane please, how am I supposed to help if you didn’t want to open up with me? C’mon, we are friends right? We even used to be more than that!” pleaded Ryo.
Akane sighed, yeah, before she went out with Yamapi, she was dating Ryo first, it’s because Ryo reminded her so much of her late boyfriend who died in an accident. But later she realized that she loved Yamapi more, and Ryo was really nice to her, it’s not fair to be rude to him after everything he has done for her.
“Sorry Ryo-chan, I was being rude to you. I think Yamapi was cheating on me on our 6th months anniversary,” her voice started to shake.
“Eeeeehhh? Yamapi? It can’t be! He’s not that type of guy!” denied Ryo, he knew Yamapi very well, they were grown up together, even both of them lived in different towns, they never lost touch.
“I have evidence! I saw the girl’s message for him! That Mika girl wrote something like thanx so much for yesterday, you are the best!” sulked Akane.
“Mika? I know her!” chuckled Ryo. “She is Yamapi’s ex-girlfriend, but no worries, they separated in good way, she’s engaged with a business man now if I’m not mistaken. I’m not sure about what she referred to, but you better confirm with Pi-chan first before you ended up accusing him to cheat on you.”
“Really? But why he never told me about her? And why he didn’t explain if he’s gone out with her at the first place? Why I must find out from that cheap mail?” demanded Akane furiously.
“Hey hey, I’m not Yamapi! Wrong target!” calmed Ryo.
“Yeah sorry, I was being jealous! Maybe you are right. I should have asked his explanation first.” Akane started to realize how childish she was. It’s not the first time they ever been in a fight, and they always sorted things out, but they never had any 3rd party issue, that’s why the whole thing made her lost her clear mind, deep inside she regretted her childish act, but she was still angry that Yamapi didn’t tell her anything about Mika. “Why he had to hide that he met her on our anniversary?”
“Calm already? I know you still have lots of questions, but I can’t answer them, you better talk heart to heart with Pi-chan. Now let’s go, I have to take you home, it’s getting late,” smiled Ryo and offered his hand to Akane.
Akane replied his smile and said, “Thanx Ryo-chan, you are really nice! I will return your clothes later.”
“No need, you can keep them, it’s a souvenir from me.” joked Ryo and made Akane’s smile widened.
They walked out the hotel without realizing a pair of eyes were watching them and followed with sound of click, click, click, capturing every single movement they made.
Ryo walked Akane home, and at the door, he smiled and said, “Don’t worry too much, just confirm with Pi ok? I will leave the city tomorrow morning, so take care ne?”
“Thanx again, Ryo-chan!” replied Akane and hugged him. She knew that she always can rely on him. She waved her hand and watched him walked out the flat. She took a deep breath and inserted the key and opened the door. “Home sweet home!” she whispered as if she already left the place for a long time! She loved this flat, it’s small but very cozy for her. She already rented this place since she moved back to Japan.
She changed the clothes to her pajamas, she was really tired. It was a hard day for her, and she just remembered that she hadn’t eaten anything yet, but she didn’t feel hungry at all. She just wanted to rest and sleep. But she knew that she must make some calls first, everyone must be worried about her. She re-charged her mobile phone, and opened the flip. She got shot with tons of mails and missed calls. She didn’t bother to read any mails, just opened the address book and started to make some calls.
“Moshi-moshi, Miharu-chan?”
“OMG, Akane? Are you alright? Where are you? We are really worried!” answered Miharu in panic way.
“Daijoubu yo! I’m at home already! Gomen ne to make all you worried.”
“Yokatta ne! Listen, I know Yamapi should explain it himself, but you got the wrong idea about the mail, that girl only asked him to help her find birthday present for her fiancée, nothing more!”
“Yeah, I didn’t think clearly today. It’s ok, Miharu! Thanx for explaining, I will call Pi after this! Send my regards to Koyama ok? Take care!”
“You take care yourself, oyasumi!”
“Oyasuminasai!” ended Akane.
“Ryo-chan was right! Yamapi wouldn’t have cheated on me, I was so stupid!” she mumbled to herself. She dialed Yamapi’s number now, and waited for the connecting tone.
“Akane? Where are you?” as Yamapi saw the name on the screen.
“I’m at home already! Don’t worry about me! Sorry to make you worried!”
“I will come to your place now!”
“No need, I’m fine! I need some space alone tonight, hope you will understand. And Miharu already explained about the mail, sorry I was so stupid and thought you were cheating on me.”
“I’m also sorry for not explaining to you earlier, Mika is nothing to me, you are the most important person in my life now!”
“But why you never told me about her? I told you everything about Takashi!”
“Uhm well, I think it’s not important, it’s all in the past Akane, we have to move on! Beside you don’t need to get jealous of her, she will get married very soon, I only helped her to choose birthday present for her fiancée, that’s all!”
“But you took her out on our anniversary …” she mumbled.
“Ehhh? What?” he didn’t catch what she was saying.
“Iie, nande mo nai! I want to sleep now, so I will see you tomorrow ok?”
“Alright! Dream of me tonight! Oyasuminasai!”
“Oyasumi,” she closed her keitai and smiled at his last words, he could be such a darling sometimes. She turned off the light and rested her head on the pillow, “Though day, hope everything will be alright again!” she said to herself before closed her eyes.
Chapter 3
Yamapi was in his bad mood ever, his face was in rage and he was holding a tabloid in his hand, he parked his car outside Akane’s flat and rushed walked upstairs to her room. He banged the door loudly.
“Oh hi Pi, so early!” welcomed Akane with a smile. But Yamapi wasn’t smiling back, instead he pushed her inside and closed the door. Akane was confused at his rude behavior and wondered why he was in such a bad mood. In fact she never has seen him with so angry face like this before. They starred at each other, later he handed the tabloid to her in rude way.
“Explain this!” demanded him.
Akane glared at him, but she opened the tabloid and on the front page she found a big article with some pictures of her and Ryo in front of his hotel last night! Her eyes were covered with black line, but it’s her! And the headline was written, “IDOL NISHIKIDO RYO WAS CAUGHT WITH A GIRL OUTSIDE THE HOTEL!!” and the articles below was all craps saying that Ryo was dating this mysterious girl. She was so mad reading the articles, and couldn’t believe they were caught by paparazzi last night. And now Yamapi must have a wrong idea about this! “Shit! Is it a karma?” she thought to herself.
“Well? What can you explain about it?” Yamapi crossed his hands on his chest and glared at Akane with furious look.
“This is all crap, I can’t believe you didn’t trust me!” answered Akane and threw back the tabloid to him.
“Akane, this pictures showed everything! It’s definitely you, I can recognize the necklace! And it’s Ryo’s clothes that you were wearing! I know that shirt, I have the same one with different printed design as we bought them together in Shibuya!”
“Yes, I was at his hotel last night, but it wasn’t what you are thinking!”
“C’mon Akane, don’t lie to me! I know that you still have crush on him, right? Coz he looks like your late boyfriend!”
“It has nothing to do with it!” replied Akane coldly.
“You slept with him, didn’t you?” accused Yamapi and made Akane felt as she just got slapped at her face. She couldn’t take it any longer, she disappointed that he didn’t trust her.
“Is that what you are thinking? That I’m such a cheap girl who sleep around with your friends?”
“Well, like I said pictures can explain everything!” his jealously toward Ryo made him completely lost his mind.
“Fine, if you said so! Yes, I slept with him, are you happy now?” snapped Akane. She thought it’s no way to convince him right now, he wouldn’t believe anything she said anyway.
“I can’t believe this Akane! I thought you loved me! That’s it, we are over!”
“Fine! Whatever! Now get out from my flat!” she pushed him out and locked the door. She stood behind the door, lifted his head up, and cried. Both of them were so stubborn and Yamapi didn’t try to get back inside. Instead, he walked to his car, and released his anger to the steer wheel!
Akane stopped her sobbing, and realized that it’s all over between them now! After 6 months, their relationship just ended like that because the misunderstanding and stupid tabloid. She grabbed the tabloid and ripped it into pieces. She made up her mind, she looked out her keitai and wrote the last message to him, “Pi, I love you, but we can’t be together if there’s no trust between us! We shouldn’t meet again as we will only hurt each other, good luck for everything! Take care yourself!”
Akane took the last look at her flat, she already packed all her stuff and sent them to her new place, she only had her bag and coat in her hands. “I loved this place, it’s a pity that I have to leave now!” she mumbled herself. She was really sad at the separation, and she thought that she couldn’t face Yamapi anymore, everything he said really hurt her inside. He didn’t try to apologize whatsoever so she thought they really broke up for good.
She went downstairs and as she was about to return her keys to the landlord, she also accidentally pulled out Yamapi’s key to his apartment. She looked at the big grin that Doraemon had in his face. “What are you looking at? Stupid Doraemon!” murmured her in her mind. “I don’t need this anymore!” she was about to throw away the keychain when the landlord opened the door, so she put it back to her bag and talked with the landlord for a while.
After that, Akane walked out the flat and sighed, “Goodbye! Sorry for being coward like this! But I just want to move on with my life and forget him. Guess I have bad luck in love, every person that I love the most left me. So I want to start a new life in a new place. Thanx for sticking with me all this years.” she waved for the last time and stopped a taxi to her new flat. She didn’t tell anyone that she was moving not even to her best friend Miharu.
2 weeks later …
Yamapi drove his car to the Johnny’s Building, it would be the first time to meet the other NEWS members after the winter break. They would have recorded a new song for the upcoming new single. He wasn’t sure what will happen if he saw Ryo, he was still mad for that article in the tabloid. And he didn’t confirm to him yet, maybe it’s time for me to deal with him now, he thought to himself.
He entered the meeting room, his mood was not good, he didn’t say a word just nodded to Tegoshi and Massu who were in the room already and welcomed him. He walked to the chair and sat in the corner, tried to make himself busy with the newspaper. Tegoshi and Massu exchanged looks and they both raised their shoulders and decided not to bother him.
Later the triple K walked in the room, Kusano and Shige exchanged high five with Tegoshi and Massu. Koyama greeted them and walked to Yamapi. He was worried over the tabloid and he never get any replied from Yamapi each time he mailed or called him.
“Hey Pi, ohisashiburi ne? Genki desu ka?” greeted Koyama with his usual cheerful smile.
Yamapi lifted his head and replied shortly, “Hi, I’m ok!”
“I know it’s not my business, but how are things between you and Akane? I read the tabloid, and it’s all rubbish!”
“Koyama, I really don’t want to talk about it! Beside it’s time for work not personal matters.” Yamapi replied in rude way.
“Oh ok!” surprised Koyama at his respond. He stepped back and wondered why Yamapi was in a bad mood. He and Miharu weren’t able to contact Akane either, therefore he didn’t know what’s going on.
So he joined the other NEWS members to chit-chat, and soon after their manager came in together with Uchi and Ryo who were coming all the way from Osaka. They grinned at their band mates and sat in the meeting chairs, Yamapi joined them. Their manager took out some papers and explained about the new single, Cherish was the title, they would record the song on the next day. All NEWS members sounded excited for the new single except Yamapi who went silent in the meeting. He tried to concentrate and followed what the manager has said. But his mind was in other place, he glared at Ryo with anger, and of course Ryo noticed that.
1 hour later …
“Hai, that’s all for today, remember not to be late at the recording, minna!” ended the manager and smiled specifically to Shige and Kusano.
“Hai hai, wakatta!” blushed Shige. The poor boy often arrived late beyond his expectations, but lately his bad habit has decreased.
“Ore mo!” grinned Kusano, he often took the wrong train without he realized it.
Soon after the manager left the room, Ryo felt a tap on his shoulder, it was from Yamapi!
“Ryo, do you have time? I need some words with you!” still in cold expression.
“Oh ok, where? Here?” replied Ryo.
Yamapi looked around and the other NEWS members realized that they have to stay away from the room, they soon excused themselves and left only Yamapi and Ryo in there.
“Ok, no more disturbers, what do you want to talk about?” asked Ryo. He was sure that Yamapi was gonna talk about the article in that tabloid.
“Don’t act innocent! You know what I’m gonna say, about that article of course!” blurted out Yamapi.
“C’mon Pi, I’m tired of this, I already explained it to our manager and I also have to do that to you, why you don’t ask Akane instead?”
“I already did, and her respond hurt me into pieces! You slept with her right?”
Ryo shocked at his last words, he raised his eyebrow and pushed out a fist to Yamapi’s stomach.
“That’s my answer for your question! I can’t believe you don’t trust her like that!”
Yamapi bent on the floor, nursing the pain that caused from the punch Ryo just gave him. He stood up and was about to punch back but Ryo held back his hand and said, “You want my explanation? Listen, I just helped her when I found her soaking wet under the rain near the park of my hotel! We did nothing!” exclaimed Ryo.
Yamapi stopped at his action and surprised expression was drawing on his face.
“Ehh, but she was wearing your clothes!”
“AHO! Do you think she brought extra clothes with her when she ran away from your apartment?”
“Oh gawd, but why she didn’t deny when I asked if she slept with you?”
“Are you out of your mind? Didn’t you realize that question hurt her? Maybe she was tired with your blind jealously!”
“Kuso! So nothing happened?”
“Nothing, zip, nada! We just talked, I even calmed her and explained that you and Mika were totally over! Beside is that what you think of me? Even if I still loved her, I will never betray our friendship just like that!”
“Shit! I made the stupid thing in my whole life! I dumped her!” regretted Yamapi in frustration.
“Well, sorry to hear that, dude! It’s your fault for not thinking clearly and confirmed with me first.”
“Ryo-chan, what should I do now?”
“I don’t know, beg for her forgiveness maybe? You still love her, don’t you?”
Yamapi nodded, “Yes, I love her more than anything! Now I lost her!”
“Nothing is late, go find her! And sorry for the punch!”
“Iie, don’t worry, I deserved that! Also sorry for not trusting you! I have to find her now! Bye Ryo-chan!”
“Bye Pi-chan! And Good luck!” as Ryo saw Yamapi run out from the door.
Yamapi tried to reach Akane on the phone, but he kept getting the operator machine saying that the owner was no longer used that number. He closed his keitai in frustration! He parked his car in front of Akane’s flat, he walked fast to her room, knocked the door, no answer.
“Akane? Akane? Are you inside?” he repeated and banged the door. Still no answer.
“Anoo, are you looking for Akane Haneda?” suddenly a door in front of her room opened and a middle age woman came out.
“Yes, is she at home now?” replied Yamapi.
“She just moved 2 weeks ago, so the flat is empty.”
“Ehhh? Moved? How? Where?” panicked Yamapi.
“Sorry, I have no idea, you can ask the landlord downstairs.”
“Thanx mam!” ended Yamapi and run downstairs to find the landlord.
5 minutes later, he walked out to his car with disappointed look on his face. The landlord also didn’t know where she moved, he said that she didn’t leave any forwarding address. He took out the car alarm key and opened the door, he sighed, “Akane, where are you?”
He never felt guilty like this in his entire life, he accused her cheating on him, he didn’t trust her and regretted every single harsh word he ever said to her. He wanted her back, but now he lost her … again!
Chapter 4
Yamapi woke up and turned his head to the left side of his bed in reflect. Empty. He sighed, he was hoping everything was only a dream, a bad dream, or even nightmare, but he faced reality now. He knew that there was no reason for her to be there, he remembered how she sometimes slept over at his place during weekends. He looked around his room, cold, no more warmth touch from her.
He tried to forget her, but he couldn’t. He kept remembering the happy times they were together, the first time he ever saw her in that coffee shop, the first kiss in the beach, where they both confessed their love to each other. The first date where they took the only picture of them together in a purikura machine, the first holiday together in an onsen, all were sweet and unforgettable. He didn’t realized how important she was to him back then, and now they are no longer together. His heart was in pain each time he thought of her.
“Akane, I’m sorry! Will you forgive me?” whispered him as he looked at their purikura picture. And without he realized it, he started to cry.
NEWS were busy promoting their new single, they appeared in Music Station, Utaban, Music Fighter, Shounen Club, etc. Yamapi tried his best to smile and didn’t show up his sorrow inside.
Miharu waited for Koyama in NHK Hall lobby, and once Yamapi saw her, he run to her and grabbed her hand.
“Miharu, tell me where Akane is!” begged him.
“Let go of my hand, even if I know her new place, I will never tell you, baka!” as she snapped his hand and glared at him furiously.
“Miharu, what’s wrong?” asked Koyama who just appeared.
“Well, this idiot has the nerve to ask Akane’s whereabouts to me! After he dumped her!”
“Miharu please, I know I was stupid, but it was misunderstanding and I already realized my mistake, I want to apologize to her!”
“Sorry Pi, I really don’t know where she moved, and she also never contacted me either, see how you also ruined our friendship!” she started to cry. Koyama tried to calm her and hugged her to his chest.
“Yeah Pi, sorry but you have to leave her alone this time. She’s not ready to see you again. We can’t help you.” regretted Koyama.
“Ok, I understand, I deserved that. But please if you guys ever see her again, please let her know that I miss her and want to talk to her.”
“We will.” promised Koyama.
“No way, I don’t want her to get hurt again!” exclaimed Miharu.
“Miharu, I promise you that I will never hurt her ever again!” frustrated Yamapi.
“Nee Pi, no worries, I will convince her, now we have to go! See ya!” ended Koyama. He knew how stubborn Miharu was, so arguing with her was a waste of time, he would wait her to calm first then persuade her later.
“Ok thanx Koyama, bye Miharu.” she didn’t say anything, just rolled her eyes and left the NHK Hall building with Koyama.
Yamapi sighed, “Even Miharu hates me now! Way to go Pi, see how mess you make!”
“What mess? Hey Pi, wanna go out for a blind date with us?” bounced Jin, who was clueless with everything, followed with the rest of KAT-TUN behind him.
“Omiai? Sorry not interested!” replied Yamapi shortly and left them.
“Ehh, it’s the first time Yamapi stood me up!” cried Jin.
“Baka! Stop acting like a rabu-rabu couple!” Kame whacked his head.
“Ittai! What I did wrong? Piii, wait for me!” Jin chased Yamapi.
Akane glanced at the TV in her new place, it was showing NEWS on Utaban. She saw how tired Yamapi was, his face was thinner than before, she concerned with his health. She was happy that he managed to answer few questions in ”Aru to Nai” IQ games and rewarded with delicious expensive foods. She smiled when she saw Kusano chased Nakai to whisper him the answer. She laughed when Ryo complained and told the winners to eat faster. “So typical Ryo-chan!” she chuckled. She was sorry to see that Massu didn’t manage to win any food rewards, and was surprised to see how smart Shige was, as he managed to answer all questions. She has met all of NEWS members occasionally, but she was closer with Koyama, Ryo and Uchi. She loved Tegoshi tho, and often joked to Yamapi and said how she wanted to adopt him as her younger brother, and Yamapi just laughed at her.
“How I miss them all, especially him!” sighed Akane while the camera was focusing on Yamapi’s face while they performed “Cherish”.
She followed the lyrics in the screen and started to sing along, she loved the song since the first time she heard it. She never cared with music world, but once for a while she listened to NEWS’ songs and other JE songs. She continued singing the chorus,

“Such a beautiful love song, with many sweet promises and all.” whispered Akane to herself. “Am I too stubborn? Did he deserve all this? We should sort our problem out, talk about it and deal with it, but instead I run away.” She knew deep inside that she still loved him and already forgive him.
Chapter 5
Yamapi walked in the street with lazy steps, he never felt so lonely like this before. He tried to spend time with his best friends, but it didn’t feel the same, he often wandered around the beach, blamed himself for being so stupid and stubborn, he lost the love of his life just because he didn’t trust her enough, he kept reading the last message that Akane sent to him on the day he dumped her. He just ignored the message when he received it, and only read after Ryo explained that nothing happened between them in that hotel. But it was all too late, he couldn’t reach her now.
All the sudden, a new mail was coming in, it was from Miharu.
“Where are you? I still don’t think you deserve this, but Koyama convinced me how miserable your life without Akane, so you can try to meet her in Haven Coffee Shop in Setagaya Street. Good Luck!”
He almost fell down the street by that surprise message, he kissed his keitai, whispered, “Ariagatou Miharu-chan!” Then realized that Haven Coffee Shop sounded someway familiar to him, he tried to remember where he has seen the sign name of that place, and after few seconds, he whacked his own forehead and shrieked, “Baka! That’s the same coffee shop where I saw her for the first time last year! How on earth I forgot that place!”
He glimpsed that his watch, it’s almost 7 pm, he wasn’t sure if her habit was still the same or not, but he knew well that she usually left that place around 8 pm last year.
“Yabaii! I hope I’m not too late!” he shrieked again and stopped for a taxi. He was in another side of Tokyo, and if he was lucky, he would reach that coffee shop before 8 pm.
“Hayaku! Hayaku!” he ordered the taxi driver to drive faster. The ojisan-driver just rolled his eyes, and wondered why this costumer was really anxious and so hurry. He raised his shoulder and thought maybe he was late for a date.
Akane stretched her body backwards and let out a sigh of relief. She forgot how calm she was at this cozy place when she just lost her boyfriend by an accident last year. She loved to spend time hanging out at this peaceful coffee shop and reading her favorite books. She started back her old habit since last week and sometimes she invited Miharu along, and made her promised not to tell anyone especially Yamapi about it. She still wasn’t sure about her feeling. She knew that she already forgive him, but she was still afraid to face him right now. She still needed more time, and Miharu understood that.
The coffee shop was only occupied with few costumers, she noticed that she was the only girl that day. The other costumers were three business men who were animatedly talking about their business. She saw the owner and a waiter inside the long coffee table, busy cleaning up the cups and glasses.
She was reading a new English book titled “Da Vinci Codes” by Dan Brown, she was still in a good mood to finish this interesting thick book, she loved fictions especially the ones that needed some work of her brain. She enjoyed the book so far.
“Hai, this is Setagaya Street!” said the taxi driver as he looked behind the costumer seat.
“Here, keep the change!” Yamapi handed some money and went out the taxi hurriedly.
“Yappari, he’s late for a date!” smiled the driver and kissed at the big tip Yamapi left for him.
Yamapi walked as fast as he could and tried his best to remember the coffee shop, he found that place accidentally last year when he had filmed “Sore wa totzunen arashi no you ni” and he never visited that place again after the filming was over. He was still whacking his own head for not realized that she could be back to her old habit earlier.
He smiled when he saw the sign of “Haven Coffee Shop” at the corner of the street. That place hasn’t changed much. He walked faster and opened the door, the owner remembered him and welcomed him with a warm smile. He nodded and searched for her around the place. He specifically spotted the table where Akane used to sit daily last year, but no one was there. The waiter just about to clean up the table, she picked the empty cup and about to place it in the tray when she heard someone at his back spoke to her.
“Anoo, who sat in this table just now?” asked Yamapi.
“Oh wow, are you Yamapi from NEWS?” the waiter just ignored his question and got a star struck, she couldn’t believe her luck, she met Yamapi at her new work place, she just started the job last month.
“Uhm yes …” he hesitated to answer.
“OMG, can I shake your hand and get your autograph?” excited the waiter. Then the owner who watched the whole incident from his place just gave a deep “Ahem, ahem”
“Oops, I forget that I’m still working! Michi desu, so nice to meet you!” as she started shake his hand excitedly.
Yamapi nodded and asked the same question, “Uhm, can you tell me who sat in this table before?”
“Oh, a girl with black shoulder length hair, and uhm I think she read a book?” replied Michi cheerfully.
“Kuso! I’m late! She left already!” disappointed Yamapi in his mind. His expression said it all.
“Oh, you know that girl? No worries, I think she will return tomorrow, she has been visiting this place for almost everyday. But yeah, today she left earlier that usual.”
“Ok, thanx!” he forced to smile and Michi stunned again.
He was about to leave when Michi shrieked, “Ohhh, she left something!” she bent down and picked a shiny thing from the floor. Yamapi turned back and saw Akane’s necklace in Michi’s hand.
“That’s her necklace!” surprised him.
“Yes, she left this place in hurry, I think she didn’t realize that the necklace was dropped. Here you can return it yourself.” said Michi and handed the necklace to Yamapi.
“Thanx again Michi!” this time his smile was sincere from the heart. And Michi was about to faint at his adorable smile. He waved to Michi and left the place.
“Aww, such a humble idol!” sighed Michi. “Ahh damn! I forget to ask his autograph!” regretted her and got a glare from her boss.
Outside the door, Yamapi looked at her necklace in his hand, it’s a silver necklace with a small diamond pendant that he gave her as Christmas present. He still remembered her expression when he passed the jewelry box to her. She loved it. And he was really happy that after everything she still kept the necklace with her.
Just when he lifted his head, he saw a familiar figure was walking to his direction. “It’s her!” screamed out his heart. But she didn’t see him, her head faced down to the street. She finally realized that she lost her necklace, and after searched her bag and clothes, she was sure that she must be dropped it near the coffee shop, so she traced down the street looked out for it.
Yamapi walked to her and called out her name softly, “Akane …”
“Yamapi?” surprised her. She wasn’t expected to see him at all.
“Thanx God, you are all right!” he approached her.
“No, don’t ever try to get near me, you said we are over!” she walked back off.
“Akane please! I already realized my mistake! Sorry for being selfish, I can’t live without you! Can you please forgive me?” pleaded Yamapi as he looked deeply into her eyes.
Akane stunned, she wasn’t sure what to do, she didn’t dare looking at his eyes.
“Akane please forgive me!” he repeated and now holding both of her hands.
She finally looked at him back, she saw the sincerity in his eyes.
“I … I … already forgive you, Pi! But …”
“I promise you I will trust you fully! And I will never ever hurt you again! I love you so much!” he started to hug her.
“I love you too!” Akane cried silently and replied his hug.
“Hey hey, don’t cry! You will look ugly with red eyes and running nose!” joked Yamapi.
She smiled and wiped her tears, tears of happiness.
“Ah yes, look what I found, your necklace!” he took out the necklace from his pocket and tried to put it on, she hold back her hair so he could tied it easily.
“Yokatta! I was really worried when I realized that I lost it!”
“I’m so happy that you still want to wear it after what I have done to you.”
“Too much sweet memories to forget.” she blushed.
“Akane, arigatou!” he smiled and gave her a soft kiss in her forehead.
A sound of clapping hands was heard, and they both turned their heads, and dead shocked to see Michi and the owner were outside the coffee shop and witnessed everything.
“So touching!” sobbed Michi while still clapping her hands.
“Ehhh???”
“I’m happy that you two are back together. C’mon, let’s celebrate it inside, my treat!” smiled the owner.
Akane and Yamapi exchanged looks and were worried that their relationship could be exposed.
“Don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone, it’s our little secret!” winked Michi as if she could read their minds.
They exchanged looks again, and this time both of them nodded happily.
So four of them went inside, the other costumers were already left. The owner put on “close” sign at the door and smiled to them. They bowed to show their appreciation. Michi lead them to the table where Akane always sat at, and cheerfully asked what they wanted to order. “ … with manager-san treat of course!” she winked again. They ordered their favorite drinks, iced cappuccino for Akane and espresso for Yamapi. After delivered their orders, Michi excused herself and let them in peace.
“This is too perfect! We have our date at the first place where we met each other!” excited Yamapi.
“Correction, it was you who starred at me, I didn’t notice your existence!” teased Akane.
“Yeah right, you and your books! How come you ignored me like that?” pouted Yamapi.
“Because they are more interesting than you!”
“Akane!”
“Haha sorry, I was blind, ok?”
“That’s more reasonable!” grinned Yamapi in victory.
They spent the next hours chatting away and catch up with everything. They realized that they will never forget this coffee shop. After two hours of enjoyable time, they excused themselves to the owner and Michi.
They walked out the door hand in hand, and when they waited for the taxi, Yamapi insisted to take her home first, beside he wanted to know about her new flat. He stopped a taxi and both of them sat in the back seat.
“Akane …” started Yamapi.
“Yes?”
“Jitsu wa, I wrote a song about us.”
“Ehh really? What song?” excited Akane.
“I already wrote the first verse and chorus two years ago, and performed it twice in Shounen Club, but guess you never watched that show.”
“Ahh gomen, two years ago I was still with Takashi.” regretted Akane.
“It’s ok, I have finished the song, and hopefully it will be included in NEWS first album.”
“Wow, sugoi! I can’t hardly wait to hear it!”
“Actually, if you want you can hear it now.” he took out his MD player and played the song for her.
She listened with much concentration. 5 minutes later …
“Pi-chan, this is such a beautiful song! I love it, the melody and lyrics really touch my heart, what the title of it?”
“It’s called Love Song, I dedicated it just for you.” smiled Yamapi. Akane couldn’t hold her tears anymore. Another tears of eternal happiness.
“Sshhhh, nakaide! You are the best thing in my life, every single words from that song are my honest feeling for you, so please always stay by my side, I promise to love you forever.” he wiped her tears with his hand.
“Atashi mo, yakusoku! Zutto zutto aishiteru!” smiled Akane and looked into his eyes deeply. She rested her head in his shoulder and played Love Song again. Yamapi brushed her hair with much affection, and looked outside the window, the stars and moon were smiling for them.

Chapter 1
Akane sighed for the second time, and glanced at the clock on her table, it was exactly 5 minutes before midnight. They supposed to celebrate their 6th months anniversary very soon, but instead of being together with her boyfriend on their special day, she was alone in her flat that night. She didn’t remind him for that, hoping that he could remember it himself, but she was sure with his busy schedules between study and work, he wouldn’t remember it, or maybe he wouldn’t care for it. She sighed again, and it’s already midnight. “Happy 6th months anniversary, Pi-chan!” she whispered to herself.
She looked at the small frame near the clock, with a cute purikura of them together, she smiled, it was a sweet moment back then. They have just been together for like 2 weeks, and after their first real date, he asked her to take a purikura, she refused, she wasn’t a type of girl who loved taking pictures, but he forced her and actually dragged her to the purikura machine. She wasn’t sure what to do, because it was actually her first time ever to take picture in purikura machine! He did everything by himself, like choosing the background and all. And when the machine told them to get ready, he whispered to her ear, “Akane, I want to memorize this special day, so please give me your sweetest smile!” then he grabbed her into his embrace. The picture turned out really good, they both smiling and looking so happy together. He keeps one in his wallet, and she also put another one in her agenda. It was their only picture together ever.
She wasn’t sure whether to call or mail him about the anniversary or not. He might be sleeping already. With his tight schedules, they couldn’t meet up as often as they wanted, and she understood that. Sometimes twice a week or even only once! She’s at her final year in Meiji University, she’s working on her thesis now, therefore she rarely went to Uni, so they usually only met up in the weekends. She wished that he could take a few day-off from his work, but she couldn’t be that selfish, she knew that he loves his job very much. At the end, she decided not to bother him, though she hoped that he would call or mail her that night, but after waited for like a hour, she gave up. She looked at the frame again, whispered, “Oyasuminasai, Pi-chan!” and turned off the light.
2 days later …
“Yappari, he didn’t remember our anniversary … “ Akane spoke to herself on they way to Yamapi’s apartment. No call, no mail, whatsoever! She kinda disappointed, but then she tried to calm herself, “C’mon Akane, it’s only 6th months anniversary! He must be really busy this week so he forgot it.” She tried to not make big deal of it.
She walked and finally reached the door, it was locked, she knocked few times, no answer. She took out the key that Yamapi gave her on their 1st month anniversary, yup they did celebrate that! The key attached with the cute Doraemon keychain, she sometimes laughed at her boyfriend, coz he’s almost 20 years old, but yet still obsessed with Doraemon! She inserted the key, turned it right and the door was opened. She could hear the shower noise from the bathroom.
“Hey Pi, are you in the shower?” shouted Akane after she took off her coat and shoes.
“Yes, I’m almost done, please wait, will ya?” replied him from the bathroom.
His apartment isn’t big but comfortable enough, she loved to spend times observing his place. She loved especially the big sofa they often used to watch DVD with his big flat screen TV. Yamapi used to live with his mother and sister until he got accepted in Meiji University. Sometimes Akane helped him to clean up and re-arrange the furniture, she often teased him, “Whoah, you need to pay me extra to be your maid!” But actually she loved to do all the things for his apartment, it’s like her 2nd home.
She entered the bedroom, and sighed, the bed sheet was messy, clothes were everywhere. “Pi Pi, what are you gonna do without me?” whispered Akane. She started cleaning the room, and in the outside the rain started to fall heavily. They supposed to have dinner with Koyama and Miharu. She watched the rain outside and thought, “Damn, we will definitely late! Must mail Miharu about the rain!” she took out her keitai, opened it, and the screen was pure black, the battery was out! “Shit, am I being cursed today?” she frowned. She looked around the room and found Yamapi’s keitai on the side table. She doubted whether to use it or not, she knew that it’s not polite to look around someone else’s phone, even if it’s his boyfriend! But she has no other choice, she opened the keitai, and smiled to see the Doraemon wallpaper inside. “The story of my life, must share my boyfriend with an anime character.” she said to herself. She opened the mailbox and before writing the new message, suddenly a new mail was coming in!
She hesitated to open it, but thought maybe it’s from Koyama. So she opened it and was dead surprised to see the message! It was short, simple, but really hurt her! She couldn’t believe Yamapi was cheating on her on their anniversary! Her mind was full with questions, “Why? Why? Why?” and so she couldn’t think clear and asked for explanation. She grabbed her coat and run out the apartment, in the midst of rain, her tears fell down.
Chapter 2
Yamapi didn’t realize that Akane already left the apartment, he walked out from the bathroom, only wore his jeans and towel around his neck, he still dried the hair when he reached the bedroom, no sign of Akane.
“Akane?” he looked around the apartment, and still no sign of her.
“Strange!” he rolled his eyes and found his keitai was opened on the bed. He grabbed the phone and read the message, it was from his ex-girlfriend Mika. He suddenly understood why Akane left the apartment without telling him.
“Damn, she must think the wrong idea about this mail!” murmured Yamapi.
He put on his shirt, grabbed the jacket and went out to search her. He had no idea where she could be, he called Koyama and Miharu and both of them didn’t know her whereabouts too! He started reaching her phone also, but the operator machine kept saying that the number was either inactive or outside the service area. He felt frustration again. It’s like the time was running back in the past, he knew how fragile she was.
He met up with Koyama and Miharu at the restaurant where they supposed to meet, it was dark already and the rain was still falling like cats and dogs.
“Yo Pi, still no news about Akane?” worried Koyama, his group mate in NEWS.
“Yes, I’m worried about her too! Her phone is inactive!” added Miharu, Koyama’s girlfriend who is also Akane’s best friend.
“Nope! I still can’t reach her! I think she’s gone after she accidentally read this mail!” he showed her keitai to his friends, they read the message and both of them nodded as the sign of agreement for his guess.
“Ahh, poor girl! She thought you were cheating on him!” sighed Miharu.
“But I didn’t cheat on her! Mika only asked me to help her choose birthday present for her fiancée!” retorted Yamapi.
“Well, she didn’t know that! Beside why you didn’t tell her before she found that mail? I would have the wrong idea myself if Kei-chan got mail from another girl with that kind of message!” argued Miharu.
“It’s because I haven’t got a chance to do it!” replied Yamapi.
“That’s lame, no excuse for that!” barked Miharu back.
“GUYS STOP IT! It’s no point to argue in here! We better start look out for her before anything bad happen to her!” Koyama tried to calm the situation.
“Yeah right, gomen ne Miharu, I wasn’t thinking.” said Yamapi apologetically.
“Me too, I was a bit carried away, it’s because I’m so worried about her.” sighed Miharu.
“We all do! So Pi try that way, Miharu and me will go this way!” pointed Koyama. And so they parted to search her
Akane kept walking under the rain until her feet started to shake and she couldn’t walk any longer, she was soaking wet from her hair to her shoes. She sat on the bench of a park, and tears still fell down from her eyes. Her mind was remembering the message from Yamapi’s keitai. It was a short simple message written like this, “Pi-chan, thanx so much for yesterday, you are the best! Mika” not to forget the little red heart shape before the name of that girl.
“Akane?” a familiar voice was heard. She lifted her head to see the person that called her.
“Ryo-chan!” surprised Akane, her eyes widened.
“Ohisashiburi! What are you doing in here under the rain? Where is Yamapi?” smiled Ryo and put the umbrella upper her head.
“I don’t want to talk about him!” Akane shook her head like 5 years old girl. Ryo raised his eyebrow, “Are they fighting or something?” guessed him in his mind.
“Ok, but you have to dry yourself now, or else you will get sick! Tell you what? My hotel is only a block away, you can clean up there, I will lend you clothes,” suggested Ryo.
“No need, I don’t care for the rain!” refused Akane.
“Well, I care for you, I don’t want you to get sick, so let’s go!” persisted Ryo and grabbed her hand to follow him.
Akane walked in lazy steps, Ryo tried to cheer her up with his jokes but she still wasn’t smiling even a bit. She’s back to her worst personality ever, rude and cold. They entered the hotel lobby, Ryo nodded to the room boy who stood there, he passed the umbrella to him and pushed Akane inside the lift elevator.
“Here are towel and clean clothes, I have turned the hot water in the bathtub for you! Now clean your self!” ordered Ryo to Akane as they got inside his room. She didn’t say anything, just received the stuff Ryo handed to her and walked to the bathroom. Ryo looked up his hotel room, he’s been staying there for almost a month for NEWS fuyucon and SHOCK musical, but that day was the last day of his part in SHOCK, tomorrow Tsubasa-kun will replace him, so he could pack up and return to his home in Osaka.
30 minutes later …
Akane went out from the bathroom, she wore Ryo’s clothes already, it’s look funny as his clothes were a bit bigger for her.
“Ahhh, you look great with my clothes, Akane! If you cut your hair, you could try and join Johnny’s Jimusho!” joked Ryo.
She still didn’t say any words from her mouth, her expression was cold. Ryo knew that it’s not time for joking around, and started serious conversation with her.
“Akane, doushite? You can tell me anything, don’t keep it to yourself!” asked Ryo. Akane looked at him, and finally she said something.
“Why man is such a jerk? Can you explain?” Ryo wasn’t expecting her to say those rude words. Even if he often said rude things from his evil tongue, her words still surprised him.
“What man? Can you describe more specifically?” puzzled Ryo.
“Well, Yamapi that is!” replied her in high tone.
“What about him? He did something bad to you?” he asked curiously.
“I don’t want to talk about it!”
“Akane please, how am I supposed to help if you didn’t want to open up with me? C’mon, we are friends right? We even used to be more than that!” pleaded Ryo.
Akane sighed, yeah, before she went out with Yamapi, she was dating Ryo first, it’s because Ryo reminded her so much of her late boyfriend who died in an accident. But later she realized that she loved Yamapi more, and Ryo was really nice to her, it’s not fair to be rude to him after everything he has done for her.
“Sorry Ryo-chan, I was being rude to you. I think Yamapi was cheating on me on our 6th months anniversary,” her voice started to shake.
“Eeeeehhh? Yamapi? It can’t be! He’s not that type of guy!” denied Ryo, he knew Yamapi very well, they were grown up together, even both of them lived in different towns, they never lost touch.
“I have evidence! I saw the girl’s message for him! That Mika girl wrote something like thanx so much for yesterday, you are the best!” sulked Akane.
“Mika? I know her!” chuckled Ryo. “She is Yamapi’s ex-girlfriend, but no worries, they separated in good way, she’s engaged with a business man now if I’m not mistaken. I’m not sure about what she referred to, but you better confirm with Pi-chan first before you ended up accusing him to cheat on you.”
“Really? But why he never told me about her? And why he didn’t explain if he’s gone out with her at the first place? Why I must find out from that cheap mail?” demanded Akane furiously.
“Hey hey, I’m not Yamapi! Wrong target!” calmed Ryo.
“Yeah sorry, I was being jealous! Maybe you are right. I should have asked his explanation first.” Akane started to realize how childish she was. It’s not the first time they ever been in a fight, and they always sorted things out, but they never had any 3rd party issue, that’s why the whole thing made her lost her clear mind, deep inside she regretted her childish act, but she was still angry that Yamapi didn’t tell her anything about Mika. “Why he had to hide that he met her on our anniversary?”
“Calm already? I know you still have lots of questions, but I can’t answer them, you better talk heart to heart with Pi-chan. Now let’s go, I have to take you home, it’s getting late,” smiled Ryo and offered his hand to Akane.
Akane replied his smile and said, “Thanx Ryo-chan, you are really nice! I will return your clothes later.”
“No need, you can keep them, it’s a souvenir from me.” joked Ryo and made Akane’s smile widened.
They walked out the hotel without realizing a pair of eyes were watching them and followed with sound of click, click, click, capturing every single movement they made.
Ryo walked Akane home, and at the door, he smiled and said, “Don’t worry too much, just confirm with Pi ok? I will leave the city tomorrow morning, so take care ne?”
“Thanx again, Ryo-chan!” replied Akane and hugged him. She knew that she always can rely on him. She waved her hand and watched him walked out the flat. She took a deep breath and inserted the key and opened the door. “Home sweet home!” she whispered as if she already left the place for a long time! She loved this flat, it’s small but very cozy for her. She already rented this place since she moved back to Japan.
She changed the clothes to her pajamas, she was really tired. It was a hard day for her, and she just remembered that she hadn’t eaten anything yet, but she didn’t feel hungry at all. She just wanted to rest and sleep. But she knew that she must make some calls first, everyone must be worried about her. She re-charged her mobile phone, and opened the flip. She got shot with tons of mails and missed calls. She didn’t bother to read any mails, just opened the address book and started to make some calls.
“Moshi-moshi, Miharu-chan?”
“OMG, Akane? Are you alright? Where are you? We are really worried!” answered Miharu in panic way.
“Daijoubu yo! I’m at home already! Gomen ne to make all you worried.”
“Yokatta ne! Listen, I know Yamapi should explain it himself, but you got the wrong idea about the mail, that girl only asked him to help her find birthday present for her fiancée, nothing more!”
“Yeah, I didn’t think clearly today. It’s ok, Miharu! Thanx for explaining, I will call Pi after this! Send my regards to Koyama ok? Take care!”
“You take care yourself, oyasumi!”
“Oyasuminasai!” ended Akane.
“Ryo-chan was right! Yamapi wouldn’t have cheated on me, I was so stupid!” she mumbled to herself. She dialed Yamapi’s number now, and waited for the connecting tone.
“Akane? Where are you?” as Yamapi saw the name on the screen.
“I’m at home already! Don’t worry about me! Sorry to make you worried!”
“I will come to your place now!”
“No need, I’m fine! I need some space alone tonight, hope you will understand. And Miharu already explained about the mail, sorry I was so stupid and thought you were cheating on me.”
“I’m also sorry for not explaining to you earlier, Mika is nothing to me, you are the most important person in my life now!”
“But why you never told me about her? I told you everything about Takashi!”
“Uhm well, I think it’s not important, it’s all in the past Akane, we have to move on! Beside you don’t need to get jealous of her, she will get married very soon, I only helped her to choose birthday present for her fiancée, that’s all!”
“But you took her out on our anniversary …” she mumbled.
“Ehhh? What?” he didn’t catch what she was saying.
“Iie, nande mo nai! I want to sleep now, so I will see you tomorrow ok?”
“Alright! Dream of me tonight! Oyasuminasai!”
“Oyasumi,” she closed her keitai and smiled at his last words, he could be such a darling sometimes. She turned off the light and rested her head on the pillow, “Though day, hope everything will be alright again!” she said to herself before closed her eyes.
Chapter 3
Yamapi was in his bad mood ever, his face was in rage and he was holding a tabloid in his hand, he parked his car outside Akane’s flat and rushed walked upstairs to her room. He banged the door loudly.
“Oh hi Pi, so early!” welcomed Akane with a smile. But Yamapi wasn’t smiling back, instead he pushed her inside and closed the door. Akane was confused at his rude behavior and wondered why he was in such a bad mood. In fact she never has seen him with so angry face like this before. They starred at each other, later he handed the tabloid to her in rude way.
“Explain this!” demanded him.
Akane glared at him, but she opened the tabloid and on the front page she found a big article with some pictures of her and Ryo in front of his hotel last night! Her eyes were covered with black line, but it’s her! And the headline was written, “IDOL NISHIKIDO RYO WAS CAUGHT WITH A GIRL OUTSIDE THE HOTEL!!” and the articles below was all craps saying that Ryo was dating this mysterious girl. She was so mad reading the articles, and couldn’t believe they were caught by paparazzi last night. And now Yamapi must have a wrong idea about this! “Shit! Is it a karma?” she thought to herself.
“Well? What can you explain about it?” Yamapi crossed his hands on his chest and glared at Akane with furious look.
“This is all crap, I can’t believe you didn’t trust me!” answered Akane and threw back the tabloid to him.
“Akane, this pictures showed everything! It’s definitely you, I can recognize the necklace! And it’s Ryo’s clothes that you were wearing! I know that shirt, I have the same one with different printed design as we bought them together in Shibuya!”
“Yes, I was at his hotel last night, but it wasn’t what you are thinking!”
“C’mon Akane, don’t lie to me! I know that you still have crush on him, right? Coz he looks like your late boyfriend!”
“It has nothing to do with it!” replied Akane coldly.
“You slept with him, didn’t you?” accused Yamapi and made Akane felt as she just got slapped at her face. She couldn’t take it any longer, she disappointed that he didn’t trust her.
“Is that what you are thinking? That I’m such a cheap girl who sleep around with your friends?”
“Well, like I said pictures can explain everything!” his jealously toward Ryo made him completely lost his mind.
“Fine, if you said so! Yes, I slept with him, are you happy now?” snapped Akane. She thought it’s no way to convince him right now, he wouldn’t believe anything she said anyway.
“I can’t believe this Akane! I thought you loved me! That’s it, we are over!”
“Fine! Whatever! Now get out from my flat!” she pushed him out and locked the door. She stood behind the door, lifted his head up, and cried. Both of them were so stubborn and Yamapi didn’t try to get back inside. Instead, he walked to his car, and released his anger to the steer wheel!
Akane stopped her sobbing, and realized that it’s all over between them now! After 6 months, their relationship just ended like that because the misunderstanding and stupid tabloid. She grabbed the tabloid and ripped it into pieces. She made up her mind, she looked out her keitai and wrote the last message to him, “Pi, I love you, but we can’t be together if there’s no trust between us! We shouldn’t meet again as we will only hurt each other, good luck for everything! Take care yourself!”
Akane took the last look at her flat, she already packed all her stuff and sent them to her new place, she only had her bag and coat in her hands. “I loved this place, it’s a pity that I have to leave now!” she mumbled herself. She was really sad at the separation, and she thought that she couldn’t face Yamapi anymore, everything he said really hurt her inside. He didn’t try to apologize whatsoever so she thought they really broke up for good.
She went downstairs and as she was about to return her keys to the landlord, she also accidentally pulled out Yamapi’s key to his apartment. She looked at the big grin that Doraemon had in his face. “What are you looking at? Stupid Doraemon!” murmured her in her mind. “I don’t need this anymore!” she was about to throw away the keychain when the landlord opened the door, so she put it back to her bag and talked with the landlord for a while.
After that, Akane walked out the flat and sighed, “Goodbye! Sorry for being coward like this! But I just want to move on with my life and forget him. Guess I have bad luck in love, every person that I love the most left me. So I want to start a new life in a new place. Thanx for sticking with me all this years.” she waved for the last time and stopped a taxi to her new flat. She didn’t tell anyone that she was moving not even to her best friend Miharu.
2 weeks later …
Yamapi drove his car to the Johnny’s Building, it would be the first time to meet the other NEWS members after the winter break. They would have recorded a new song for the upcoming new single. He wasn’t sure what will happen if he saw Ryo, he was still mad for that article in the tabloid. And he didn’t confirm to him yet, maybe it’s time for me to deal with him now, he thought to himself.
He entered the meeting room, his mood was not good, he didn’t say a word just nodded to Tegoshi and Massu who were in the room already and welcomed him. He walked to the chair and sat in the corner, tried to make himself busy with the newspaper. Tegoshi and Massu exchanged looks and they both raised their shoulders and decided not to bother him.
Later the triple K walked in the room, Kusano and Shige exchanged high five with Tegoshi and Massu. Koyama greeted them and walked to Yamapi. He was worried over the tabloid and he never get any replied from Yamapi each time he mailed or called him.
“Hey Pi, ohisashiburi ne? Genki desu ka?” greeted Koyama with his usual cheerful smile.
Yamapi lifted his head and replied shortly, “Hi, I’m ok!”
“I know it’s not my business, but how are things between you and Akane? I read the tabloid, and it’s all rubbish!”
“Koyama, I really don’t want to talk about it! Beside it’s time for work not personal matters.” Yamapi replied in rude way.
“Oh ok!” surprised Koyama at his respond. He stepped back and wondered why Yamapi was in a bad mood. He and Miharu weren’t able to contact Akane either, therefore he didn’t know what’s going on.
So he joined the other NEWS members to chit-chat, and soon after their manager came in together with Uchi and Ryo who were coming all the way from Osaka. They grinned at their band mates and sat in the meeting chairs, Yamapi joined them. Their manager took out some papers and explained about the new single, Cherish was the title, they would record the song on the next day. All NEWS members sounded excited for the new single except Yamapi who went silent in the meeting. He tried to concentrate and followed what the manager has said. But his mind was in other place, he glared at Ryo with anger, and of course Ryo noticed that.
1 hour later …
“Hai, that’s all for today, remember not to be late at the recording, minna!” ended the manager and smiled specifically to Shige and Kusano.
“Hai hai, wakatta!” blushed Shige. The poor boy often arrived late beyond his expectations, but lately his bad habit has decreased.
“Ore mo!” grinned Kusano, he often took the wrong train without he realized it.
Soon after the manager left the room, Ryo felt a tap on his shoulder, it was from Yamapi!
“Ryo, do you have time? I need some words with you!” still in cold expression.
“Oh ok, where? Here?” replied Ryo.
Yamapi looked around and the other NEWS members realized that they have to stay away from the room, they soon excused themselves and left only Yamapi and Ryo in there.
“Ok, no more disturbers, what do you want to talk about?” asked Ryo. He was sure that Yamapi was gonna talk about the article in that tabloid.
“Don’t act innocent! You know what I’m gonna say, about that article of course!” blurted out Yamapi.
“C’mon Pi, I’m tired of this, I already explained it to our manager and I also have to do that to you, why you don’t ask Akane instead?”
“I already did, and her respond hurt me into pieces! You slept with her right?”
Ryo shocked at his last words, he raised his eyebrow and pushed out a fist to Yamapi’s stomach.
“That’s my answer for your question! I can’t believe you don’t trust her like that!”
Yamapi bent on the floor, nursing the pain that caused from the punch Ryo just gave him. He stood up and was about to punch back but Ryo held back his hand and said, “You want my explanation? Listen, I just helped her when I found her soaking wet under the rain near the park of my hotel! We did nothing!” exclaimed Ryo.
Yamapi stopped at his action and surprised expression was drawing on his face.
“Ehh, but she was wearing your clothes!”
“AHO! Do you think she brought extra clothes with her when she ran away from your apartment?”
“Oh gawd, but why she didn’t deny when I asked if she slept with you?”
“Are you out of your mind? Didn’t you realize that question hurt her? Maybe she was tired with your blind jealously!”
“Kuso! So nothing happened?”
“Nothing, zip, nada! We just talked, I even calmed her and explained that you and Mika were totally over! Beside is that what you think of me? Even if I still loved her, I will never betray our friendship just like that!”
“Shit! I made the stupid thing in my whole life! I dumped her!” regretted Yamapi in frustration.
“Well, sorry to hear that, dude! It’s your fault for not thinking clearly and confirmed with me first.”
“Ryo-chan, what should I do now?”
“I don’t know, beg for her forgiveness maybe? You still love her, don’t you?”
Yamapi nodded, “Yes, I love her more than anything! Now I lost her!”
“Nothing is late, go find her! And sorry for the punch!”
“Iie, don’t worry, I deserved that! Also sorry for not trusting you! I have to find her now! Bye Ryo-chan!”
“Bye Pi-chan! And Good luck!” as Ryo saw Yamapi run out from the door.
Yamapi tried to reach Akane on the phone, but he kept getting the operator machine saying that the owner was no longer used that number. He closed his keitai in frustration! He parked his car in front of Akane’s flat, he walked fast to her room, knocked the door, no answer.
“Akane? Akane? Are you inside?” he repeated and banged the door. Still no answer.
“Anoo, are you looking for Akane Haneda?” suddenly a door in front of her room opened and a middle age woman came out.
“Yes, is she at home now?” replied Yamapi.
“She just moved 2 weeks ago, so the flat is empty.”
“Ehhh? Moved? How? Where?” panicked Yamapi.
“Sorry, I have no idea, you can ask the landlord downstairs.”
“Thanx mam!” ended Yamapi and run downstairs to find the landlord.
5 minutes later, he walked out to his car with disappointed look on his face. The landlord also didn’t know where she moved, he said that she didn’t leave any forwarding address. He took out the car alarm key and opened the door, he sighed, “Akane, where are you?”
He never felt guilty like this in his entire life, he accused her cheating on him, he didn’t trust her and regretted every single harsh word he ever said to her. He wanted her back, but now he lost her … again!
Chapter 4
Yamapi woke up and turned his head to the left side of his bed in reflect. Empty. He sighed, he was hoping everything was only a dream, a bad dream, or even nightmare, but he faced reality now. He knew that there was no reason for her to be there, he remembered how she sometimes slept over at his place during weekends. He looked around his room, cold, no more warmth touch from her.
He tried to forget her, but he couldn’t. He kept remembering the happy times they were together, the first time he ever saw her in that coffee shop, the first kiss in the beach, where they both confessed their love to each other. The first date where they took the only picture of them together in a purikura machine, the first holiday together in an onsen, all were sweet and unforgettable. He didn’t realized how important she was to him back then, and now they are no longer together. His heart was in pain each time he thought of her.
“Akane, I’m sorry! Will you forgive me?” whispered him as he looked at their purikura picture. And without he realized it, he started to cry.
NEWS were busy promoting their new single, they appeared in Music Station, Utaban, Music Fighter, Shounen Club, etc. Yamapi tried his best to smile and didn’t show up his sorrow inside.
Miharu waited for Koyama in NHK Hall lobby, and once Yamapi saw her, he run to her and grabbed her hand.
“Miharu, tell me where Akane is!” begged him.
“Let go of my hand, even if I know her new place, I will never tell you, baka!” as she snapped his hand and glared at him furiously.
“Miharu, what’s wrong?” asked Koyama who just appeared.
“Well, this idiot has the nerve to ask Akane’s whereabouts to me! After he dumped her!”
“Miharu please, I know I was stupid, but it was misunderstanding and I already realized my mistake, I want to apologize to her!”
“Sorry Pi, I really don’t know where she moved, and she also never contacted me either, see how you also ruined our friendship!” she started to cry. Koyama tried to calm her and hugged her to his chest.
“Yeah Pi, sorry but you have to leave her alone this time. She’s not ready to see you again. We can’t help you.” regretted Koyama.
“Ok, I understand, I deserved that. But please if you guys ever see her again, please let her know that I miss her and want to talk to her.”
“We will.” promised Koyama.
“No way, I don’t want her to get hurt again!” exclaimed Miharu.
“Miharu, I promise you that I will never hurt her ever again!” frustrated Yamapi.
“Nee Pi, no worries, I will convince her, now we have to go! See ya!” ended Koyama. He knew how stubborn Miharu was, so arguing with her was a waste of time, he would wait her to calm first then persuade her later.
“Ok thanx Koyama, bye Miharu.” she didn’t say anything, just rolled her eyes and left the NHK Hall building with Koyama.
Yamapi sighed, “Even Miharu hates me now! Way to go Pi, see how mess you make!”
“What mess? Hey Pi, wanna go out for a blind date with us?” bounced Jin, who was clueless with everything, followed with the rest of KAT-TUN behind him.
“Omiai? Sorry not interested!” replied Yamapi shortly and left them.
“Ehh, it’s the first time Yamapi stood me up!” cried Jin.
“Baka! Stop acting like a rabu-rabu couple!” Kame whacked his head.
“Ittai! What I did wrong? Piii, wait for me!” Jin chased Yamapi.
Akane glanced at the TV in her new place, it was showing NEWS on Utaban. She saw how tired Yamapi was, his face was thinner than before, she concerned with his health. She was happy that he managed to answer few questions in ”Aru to Nai” IQ games and rewarded with delicious expensive foods. She smiled when she saw Kusano chased Nakai to whisper him the answer. She laughed when Ryo complained and told the winners to eat faster. “So typical Ryo-chan!” she chuckled. She was sorry to see that Massu didn’t manage to win any food rewards, and was surprised to see how smart Shige was, as he managed to answer all questions. She has met all of NEWS members occasionally, but she was closer with Koyama, Ryo and Uchi. She loved Tegoshi tho, and often joked to Yamapi and said how she wanted to adopt him as her younger brother, and Yamapi just laughed at her.
“How I miss them all, especially him!” sighed Akane while the camera was focusing on Yamapi’s face while they performed “Cherish”.
She followed the lyrics in the screen and started to sing along, she loved the song since the first time she heard it. She never cared with music world, but once for a while she listened to NEWS’ songs and other JE songs. She continued singing the chorus,

“Such a beautiful love song, with many sweet promises and all.” whispered Akane to herself. “Am I too stubborn? Did he deserve all this? We should sort our problem out, talk about it and deal with it, but instead I run away.” She knew deep inside that she still loved him and already forgive him.
Chapter 5
Yamapi walked in the street with lazy steps, he never felt so lonely like this before. He tried to spend time with his best friends, but it didn’t feel the same, he often wandered around the beach, blamed himself for being so stupid and stubborn, he lost the love of his life just because he didn’t trust her enough, he kept reading the last message that Akane sent to him on the day he dumped her. He just ignored the message when he received it, and only read after Ryo explained that nothing happened between them in that hotel. But it was all too late, he couldn’t reach her now.
All the sudden, a new mail was coming in, it was from Miharu.
“Where are you? I still don’t think you deserve this, but Koyama convinced me how miserable your life without Akane, so you can try to meet her in Haven Coffee Shop in Setagaya Street. Good Luck!”
He almost fell down the street by that surprise message, he kissed his keitai, whispered, “Ariagatou Miharu-chan!” Then realized that Haven Coffee Shop sounded someway familiar to him, he tried to remember where he has seen the sign name of that place, and after few seconds, he whacked his own forehead and shrieked, “Baka! That’s the same coffee shop where I saw her for the first time last year! How on earth I forgot that place!”
He glimpsed that his watch, it’s almost 7 pm, he wasn’t sure if her habit was still the same or not, but he knew well that she usually left that place around 8 pm last year.
“Yabaii! I hope I’m not too late!” he shrieked again and stopped for a taxi. He was in another side of Tokyo, and if he was lucky, he would reach that coffee shop before 8 pm.
“Hayaku! Hayaku!” he ordered the taxi driver to drive faster. The ojisan-driver just rolled his eyes, and wondered why this costumer was really anxious and so hurry. He raised his shoulder and thought maybe he was late for a date.
Akane stretched her body backwards and let out a sigh of relief. She forgot how calm she was at this cozy place when she just lost her boyfriend by an accident last year. She loved to spend time hanging out at this peaceful coffee shop and reading her favorite books. She started back her old habit since last week and sometimes she invited Miharu along, and made her promised not to tell anyone especially Yamapi about it. She still wasn’t sure about her feeling. She knew that she already forgive him, but she was still afraid to face him right now. She still needed more time, and Miharu understood that.
The coffee shop was only occupied with few costumers, she noticed that she was the only girl that day. The other costumers were three business men who were animatedly talking about their business. She saw the owner and a waiter inside the long coffee table, busy cleaning up the cups and glasses.
She was reading a new English book titled “Da Vinci Codes” by Dan Brown, she was still in a good mood to finish this interesting thick book, she loved fictions especially the ones that needed some work of her brain. She enjoyed the book so far.
“Hai, this is Setagaya Street!” said the taxi driver as he looked behind the costumer seat.
“Here, keep the change!” Yamapi handed some money and went out the taxi hurriedly.
“Yappari, he’s late for a date!” smiled the driver and kissed at the big tip Yamapi left for him.
Yamapi walked as fast as he could and tried his best to remember the coffee shop, he found that place accidentally last year when he had filmed “Sore wa totzunen arashi no you ni” and he never visited that place again after the filming was over. He was still whacking his own head for not realized that she could be back to her old habit earlier.
He smiled when he saw the sign of “Haven Coffee Shop” at the corner of the street. That place hasn’t changed much. He walked faster and opened the door, the owner remembered him and welcomed him with a warm smile. He nodded and searched for her around the place. He specifically spotted the table where Akane used to sit daily last year, but no one was there. The waiter just about to clean up the table, she picked the empty cup and about to place it in the tray when she heard someone at his back spoke to her.
“Anoo, who sat in this table just now?” asked Yamapi.
“Oh wow, are you Yamapi from NEWS?” the waiter just ignored his question and got a star struck, she couldn’t believe her luck, she met Yamapi at her new work place, she just started the job last month.
“Uhm yes …” he hesitated to answer.
“OMG, can I shake your hand and get your autograph?” excited the waiter. Then the owner who watched the whole incident from his place just gave a deep “Ahem, ahem”
“Oops, I forget that I’m still working! Michi desu, so nice to meet you!” as she started shake his hand excitedly.
Yamapi nodded and asked the same question, “Uhm, can you tell me who sat in this table before?”
“Oh, a girl with black shoulder length hair, and uhm I think she read a book?” replied Michi cheerfully.
“Kuso! I’m late! She left already!” disappointed Yamapi in his mind. His expression said it all.
“Oh, you know that girl? No worries, I think she will return tomorrow, she has been visiting this place for almost everyday. But yeah, today she left earlier that usual.”
“Ok, thanx!” he forced to smile and Michi stunned again.
He was about to leave when Michi shrieked, “Ohhh, she left something!” she bent down and picked a shiny thing from the floor. Yamapi turned back and saw Akane’s necklace in Michi’s hand.
“That’s her necklace!” surprised him.
“Yes, she left this place in hurry, I think she didn’t realize that the necklace was dropped. Here you can return it yourself.” said Michi and handed the necklace to Yamapi.
“Thanx again Michi!” this time his smile was sincere from the heart. And Michi was about to faint at his adorable smile. He waved to Michi and left the place.
“Aww, such a humble idol!” sighed Michi. “Ahh damn! I forget to ask his autograph!” regretted her and got a glare from her boss.
Outside the door, Yamapi looked at her necklace in his hand, it’s a silver necklace with a small diamond pendant that he gave her as Christmas present. He still remembered her expression when he passed the jewelry box to her. She loved it. And he was really happy that after everything she still kept the necklace with her.
Just when he lifted his head, he saw a familiar figure was walking to his direction. “It’s her!” screamed out his heart. But she didn’t see him, her head faced down to the street. She finally realized that she lost her necklace, and after searched her bag and clothes, she was sure that she must be dropped it near the coffee shop, so she traced down the street looked out for it.
Yamapi walked to her and called out her name softly, “Akane …”
“Yamapi?” surprised her. She wasn’t expected to see him at all.
“Thanx God, you are all right!” he approached her.
“No, don’t ever try to get near me, you said we are over!” she walked back off.
“Akane please! I already realized my mistake! Sorry for being selfish, I can’t live without you! Can you please forgive me?” pleaded Yamapi as he looked deeply into her eyes.
Akane stunned, she wasn’t sure what to do, she didn’t dare looking at his eyes.
“Akane please forgive me!” he repeated and now holding both of her hands.
She finally looked at him back, she saw the sincerity in his eyes.
“I … I … already forgive you, Pi! But …”
“I promise you I will trust you fully! And I will never ever hurt you again! I love you so much!” he started to hug her.
“I love you too!” Akane cried silently and replied his hug.
“Hey hey, don’t cry! You will look ugly with red eyes and running nose!” joked Yamapi.
She smiled and wiped her tears, tears of happiness.
“Ah yes, look what I found, your necklace!” he took out the necklace from his pocket and tried to put it on, she hold back her hair so he could tied it easily.
“Yokatta! I was really worried when I realized that I lost it!”
“I’m so happy that you still want to wear it after what I have done to you.”
“Too much sweet memories to forget.” she blushed.
“Akane, arigatou!” he smiled and gave her a soft kiss in her forehead.
A sound of clapping hands was heard, and they both turned their heads, and dead shocked to see Michi and the owner were outside the coffee shop and witnessed everything.
“So touching!” sobbed Michi while still clapping her hands.
“Ehhh???”
“I’m happy that you two are back together. C’mon, let’s celebrate it inside, my treat!” smiled the owner.
Akane and Yamapi exchanged looks and were worried that their relationship could be exposed.
“Don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone, it’s our little secret!” winked Michi as if she could read their minds.
They exchanged looks again, and this time both of them nodded happily.
So four of them went inside, the other costumers were already left. The owner put on “close” sign at the door and smiled to them. They bowed to show their appreciation. Michi lead them to the table where Akane always sat at, and cheerfully asked what they wanted to order. “ … with manager-san treat of course!” she winked again. They ordered their favorite drinks, iced cappuccino for Akane and espresso for Yamapi. After delivered their orders, Michi excused herself and let them in peace.
“This is too perfect! We have our date at the first place where we met each other!” excited Yamapi.
“Correction, it was you who starred at me, I didn’t notice your existence!” teased Akane.
“Yeah right, you and your books! How come you ignored me like that?” pouted Yamapi.
“Because they are more interesting than you!”
“Akane!”
“Haha sorry, I was blind, ok?”
“That’s more reasonable!” grinned Yamapi in victory.
They spent the next hours chatting away and catch up with everything. They realized that they will never forget this coffee shop. After two hours of enjoyable time, they excused themselves to the owner and Michi.
They walked out the door hand in hand, and when they waited for the taxi, Yamapi insisted to take her home first, beside he wanted to know about her new flat. He stopped a taxi and both of them sat in the back seat.
“Akane …” started Yamapi.
“Yes?”
“Jitsu wa, I wrote a song about us.”
“Ehh really? What song?” excited Akane.
“I already wrote the first verse and chorus two years ago, and performed it twice in Shounen Club, but guess you never watched that show.”
“Ahh gomen, two years ago I was still with Takashi.” regretted Akane.
“It’s ok, I have finished the song, and hopefully it will be included in NEWS first album.”
“Wow, sugoi! I can’t hardly wait to hear it!”
“Actually, if you want you can hear it now.” he took out his MD player and played the song for her.
She listened with much concentration. 5 minutes later …
“Pi-chan, this is such a beautiful song! I love it, the melody and lyrics really touch my heart, what the title of it?”
“It’s called Love Song, I dedicated it just for you.” smiled Yamapi. Akane couldn’t hold her tears anymore. Another tears of eternal happiness.
“Sshhhh, nakaide! You are the best thing in my life, every single words from that song are my honest feeling for you, so please always stay by my side, I promise to love you forever.” he wiped her tears with his hand.
“Atashi mo, yakusoku! Zutto zutto aishiteru!” smiled Akane and looked into his eyes deeply. She rested her head in his shoulder and played Love Song again. Yamapi brushed her hair with much affection, and looked outside the window, the stars and moon were smiling for them.
